Our responsibilities
Our conduct remains answerable to the lives it touches. If Noemoria asks other institutions to answer for harm, it must accept that same scrutiny. No sacred purpose or honoured name can excuse what our hands do.
A beginning, not a finished institution
Cameron-Lee Rothenburg began this work and writes its first pages as First Witness and Scribe. The website and initial community spaces exist. Shared governance, leadership succession and an independent complaints process have not yet been established.
The commitments below describe what must guide the work. They must become working procedures as the community develops. A promise is not evidence that those protections are already in place.
Freedom within belonging
Your conscience, body and voice remain yours. Participation must be freely chosen. You may question a teaching, decline a practice or leave without organised shunning. No spiritual title entitles anyone to your money, intimacy, obedience or silence.
Protecting that freedom also requires boundaries against harmful conduct. Moderation must address what someone does, not punish them simply for disagreeing with the faith.
Power must be answerable
No leader should hold complete control. The intention is shared responsibility, decisions that can be challenged and leadership that can change. How people are appointed, how conflicts of interest are handled and how appeals are heard remain work to be done, not powers already distributed.
Concerns and harm
There is not yet an independent or confidential reporting service. For conduct on a community platform, its reporting and blocking tools remain available. Do not post private accounts or identifying details publicly to prove a concern.
Spiritual standing must never shield someone from scrutiny. A future Noemorian complaints process must provide a route beyond the person being complained about. This site does not claim to provide emergency support or professional care.
Money and support
Financial support is optional. Giving must not determine spiritual worth or belonging. This website does not currently provide a donation or membership-payment facility.
Before introducing one, the arrangements need to explain who receives the money, what it supports and who is responsible for it. The legal structure and financial procedures remain to be settled. No charity registration or tax benefit is claimed here.
Words that can be corrected
Our teachings remain open to examination. We must distinguish religious belief from established findings, preserve sources and acknowledge meaningful corrections. A book may record where we have reached; it must not forbid us to learn further.
Judge Noemoria by the care it gives, the freedom it protects and what it does when challenged. A moving gathering cannot excuse stigma, coercion or neglected harm. Our practices must leave people free to explore the Divine on their own terms, including beyond Noemoria. Those standards must reach the people building it first.
